The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that it tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will reveal exactly what the robot completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided. A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook. As with the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It can then change its course automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step. This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills. The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mount, which can cause abrasions. The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance. 3. Dreame X40 The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time. The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance. The X40 also has an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation. The app is user-friendly and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished. The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it a great choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting. 4. L20 Ultra The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available, but it packs in a lot of additional features that distinguish it from. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
